June 2, 2019 PHILADELPHIA — CF Charities sponsored a unique community event that showcased rare sports automobiles to support funding for school-based health services and educational opportunities for kids. This multi-day event culminated with a head-turning tour through center city Philadelphia and in front of the Art Museum, returning to the Wells Fargo Center for a day-long show.
The family-oriented event brought young and old out to see once in a lifetime machines – including many multi-million dollar specimens. The field consisted of over 400 super, exotic, street and hot rod, and muscle cars with the backdrop of Citizens Bank Park, Lincoln Financial Field, and the Wells Fargo Center. I even caught a 1956 Kelly Green Cadillac with the Eagles home in the background (hey Jeffrey Laurie, we’ll see these uniforms again in 2020, right?)
Jaw dropping pieces of expensive (and fast) art included several Bugatti Chirons, Lamborghinis, Ford GTs, McLarens (including a $1M+ Senna edition), an SSC Ultimate Aero, Mosler Rapter GTR, Saleen S7, and Ferraris (including an F40.)
The elite of the elite included an incredibly sexy Ferrari FXX K Evo, one of an estimated 40 ever built, and only for the track. Based on the gorgeous LaFerrari, the $3M+ FXX-K Evo boasts over 1037 hp, 2.5 second 0-to-60 sprints, and a top speed close to 220 mph. And if that wasn’t enough, the drooling continued with a Pagani Huayra Roadster, a carbon fiber beast with artistic flair. Starting price for this bad boy was $2.5M, but if you have to ask…..
Throughout the day, sports car enthusiasts could also bring their own street-legal machines and race against the clock on a closed road course in the Wells Fargo parking lot. The spectators were treated to some impressive runs with pieces of flying and burning rubber – all part of the wonderful experience for a great cause!
