After winning the coin toss in front of 9.081 fans at the Wells Fargo Center on Saturday, June 17, the Philadelphia Soul scored off their first drive of the game on an 11-yard TD pass from QB Dan Raudabaugh to WR Darius Reynolds three minutes into game. The duo was on fire Saturday as Reynolds caught all five of Raudabaugh’s TD passes over the course of the game.

Tampa Bay QB Randy Hippeard quickly hit WR Joe Hills on a 13-yard TD pass to knot the game at 7-7. It was the first of Hippeard’s six TD passes on the day. After a 42-yard TD pass from Raudabaugh to Reynolds, the Soul retook the lead 14-7. Soon thereafter the Soul recovered a Storm fumble and on the next play, FB Mykel Benson found the endzone from 8 yards out for the first of his four TD’s on the day.

The Soul kicked off the scoring in the second quarter on a TD pass from, you guessed it, Raudabaugh to Reynolds and Philly was quickly up 28-7. Tampa didn’t quit though and scored the next two TD’s with Hippeard hitting Hills from 8-yards and 26-yards out. Philly held the lead 28-21 heading into half-time.

The Soul scored 3 TD’s in the third quarter (missing one extra point) to the Storm’s 1 TD to increase their lead to 48-28. Hippeard threw a 11-yard TD strike to open the final quarter, and the Storm trailed 48-35. Raudabaugh threw to Reynolds for 15-yard TD pushing the Soul lead back to 55-35. With just under 10 minutes to play, Hippeard threw to Hills for a 26-yard TD but missed the extra point. Philly held the lead, 55-41. For their last score of the game, Raudabaugh handed the ball off to Benson for a 6-yard TD run, making it 62-41, Soul. Hippeard’s throw was intercepted with under 3 minutes to play, giving the Soul final possession. The Philadelphia Soul defeated the Tampa Bay Storm to continue their undefeated championship defending run, 62-41.

The Soul next play on Saturday, June 24 when they head to Cleveland to take on the Gladiators for the fourth time this season.
