September 13, 2025 – State College, PA — On a warm Fall day in front of 109,500 fans in Happy Valley, the Penn State Nittany Lions had no problem defeating the Villanova Wildcats. However the fight they got from Nova, especially in the first half, was more than expected.

Penn State amassed 252 total yards (vs Nova’s 69 yards) in the first half, but Nova held the Lions to 21 points.

Nick Singleton (10) ran for Penn State’s first TD, followed by Trebor Pena’s (8) TD catch from Drew Allar (15). Then kicker Ryan Barker added 2 fields goals before halftime.

Penn State also honored the 2005 Big Ten Championship and Orange Bowl winning team.

The second half was all PSU, seeming wearing down the ‘Cat’s defense while punishing their offense. After another field goal from Barker, the Lions found the end zone 4 more times with scores from Singleton, Kaytron Allen (13), Joey Schlaffer (18), and Jahmir Joseph (23).

But give The Wildcats credit, they never gave up fighting. In fact, on the very last play of the game, Brandon Binkowski (81) made a top-10 highlight catch in the back of the end zone on a Tanner Maddocks (3) scrambling pass – avoiding a shutout and covering the spread!
