January 31, 2020 – PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia Wings came up just short in a physical battle against the Georgia Swarm, losing 12-11. The high-flying Swarm, with scoring leaders Lyle Thompson (#4) and Shayne Jackson (#32), were too much for the Wings this round.

Scoring leaders for the Wings were #27 Josh Currier (3 goals, 1 assist), #1 Matt Rambo (2 goals, 5 assists), and #21 Kevin Crowley (2 goals, 3 assists).

The high-intensity game had 29 penalty minutes – 9 alone from Swarm’s Randy Staats (#83), who also scored 3 goals and had 1 assist.

Down 10-7 at halftime, the Wings came back strong in the second half, outscoring Georgia 4-2. Philly had their scoring opportunities, especially with 9 minutes of penalties from Swarm’s Randy Staats, but just could not find that one last goal.

Next for the Wings is a road trip to Buffalo to hopefully take care of the Bandits, followed by a match against the New England Black Wolves. They are back home February 22 to battle the Saskatchewan Rush.
