October 28, 2023 – Villanova, PA — On a very warm Fall day, the Villanova Wildcats produced a dominate win against the Stony Brook Seawolves in front of a special Homecoming crowd. The National Football Foundation (NFF) also celebrated Brian Westbrook’s enshrinement into the 2023 College Football Hall of Fame.
The Cats’ offense was rolling early and often, as QB Connor Watkins (#4) went 13 of 19 for over 360 yards and 4 TD passes! Running backs Jalen Jackson (#2) had 77 rushing yards and a touchdown, TD Ayo-Durojaiye (#1) scored his fifth TD this year, and Isaiah Wright (#36) captured his first touchdown of the season.
In the aerial attack, Rayjoun Pringle (#19) and Jaylan Sanchez (#82) scored touchdowns, and Jaaron Hayek (#11) grabbed 2 TDs. All 3 went for over 100 yards each!
Villanova’s defense, even after removing most starters in the fourth quarter, kept Stony Brook to under 200 passing and 100 rushing yards.
Next week, the Villanova travels to New Hampshire to take on the other Wildcats, before returning home against Towson.
