The Villanova Wildcats men’s basketball team played an exhibition game against the Rams of West Chester University on Saturday, November 2nd at the Wells-Fargo Center.
As expected, it was a very lopsided contest, with Villanova defeating the Rams 88-50. The 38 point victory came without starting point guard Ryan Arcidicono who sat out with bruised ribs. Also absent from the line-up was Dylan Ennis who continues to recover from a broken hand. During the contest, freshman Kris Jenkins suffered a sprained ankle and did not return to the game after limping badly off the court.
JayVaughn Pinkston led the way for the Wildcats, scoring 27 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field. Darrun Hilliard posted a very impressive line including 26 points (6 of 6 from three-point range), 5 assists, and 5 steals. The other Wildcats scoring in double figures were freshman Josh Hart who contributed 12 points, and James Bell, who added 11.
West Chester was led by Shannon Givens with 11 points, and Eddie Mitchell with 10.
Villanova kicks off their regular season on Friday, November 8th when they host Lafayette at the Pavilion at 8pm.
