August 29, 2024 – Villanova, PA — The Villanova Wildcats open their 2024 season with a close win over Youngstown State, 24-17.
Nova’s QB Connor Watkins (4) had a stellar game, rushing for over 100 yards and two touchdowns, while completing 6 passes for 90-yards.
Leading the rest of the Wildcat’s offensive contribution was running back Isaiah Ragland (20), with 7 explosive carries for 65 yards.
But Youngstown battled back to within a touchdown in the 4th quarter, with scores from Tyshon King and Cyrus Traugh. Villanova’s defense did not break however, with strong contributions from Tyrell Mims (7), Richie Kimmel (44), Zahmir Dawud (37), and Brendan Bell (28.)
