February 15, 2020 – VILLANOVA — Villanova Wildcats played host to the #3-ranked Yale Bulldogs on a brisk Winter day at Villanova Stadium. Nova played tough early on, battling to a 9-9 tie at half, but in the end the Bulldogs were too much for the Cats, winning 18-12.

After an opening goal by Nova’s Colin Crowley (#1), Yale scored 5 straight goals to eventually lead 7-3 at the end of quarter one. Villanova’s other goals were scored by Connor Kirst (#34) and Corey McManus (#14).

The Wildcats then opened up the offense to dominate the 2nd quarter scoring, and were in good shape going into halftime knotted at 9. Kirst scored 3 goals, Crowley pegged 2, and McManus registered 1, and the momentum was seemingly on Nova’s side.

The Bulldogs ended the closely fought 3rd quarter leading 13-11, with 2 goals from Thomas Bragg (#45), 1 from Jackson Morrill (#15), and another from Matt Gaudet (#44.) Nova grabbed 2 goals from Keegan Kahn (#39) and 1 more from McManus.

But the 4th quarter proved to be too much for the Wildcats, as Yale dominated with 5 goals to Nova’s 1 (from #99 Owen Black), ending the game 18-12.

The scoring leaders for the Bulldogs were Lucas Cotler (4 goals), Matt Gaudet (4), Thomas Bragg (4), Jackson Morrill (3). Goal leaders for Nova were Connor Kirst (4), Colin Crowley (3), Corey McManus (3), Keegan Khan (1), and Owen Black (1).
