Penn State dominates Kent State at home

September 21, 2024 – State College, PA — The Penn State Nittany Lions shut out the Kent State Golden Flashes, 56-0, in the Military Appreciation game at Beaver Stadium.

It was all Penn State, with a team record breaking offensive performance generating 718 total yards, while the defense held Kent State to only 67 yards. This was the last non-conference game for Penn State this season.

The pain started early for Kent State when their starting QB (Devin Kargman) was knocked out of the game by Dani Dennis-Sutton on the second play of the game. Worse yet, their backup QB (JD Sherrod) left the game in the 2nd quarter with an ankle injury.

Key offensive leaders for the Lions were QB Drew Allar (passing 17 for 21, 309 yards and 3 TDs), Nick Singleton (rushing for 81 yards), and Omari Evans (receiving 116 yards and 1 TD.)

PSU’s defensive leaders were, well, the entire defense!

Penn State will be tested next week with a tough conference home game against Illinois under the lights. Helping the Lions a bit more, it’s a planned prime time White Out game!
