January 25 – PHILADELPHIA — Although it was a non-league matchup, the home-turf battle went to the Penn Quakers, as they shut down a strong Temple scoring machine to win 66-59 at The Palestra.

Prior to the game at center court, Penn honored former Penn AND Temple coach Fran Dunphy, the winningest coach in Quaker history. Dunphy coached Penn from 1989 to 2006, then went to Temple before retiring last year.

Penn started the game with a 14-0 scoring run, and really never looked back. Temple closed the gap in the second half but never got more than 5 points behind the Quakers.

Scoring leaders for the Quakers included AJ Brodeur (19 pts), Jordan Dingle (15 pts), and Devon Goodman (12 pts.)

Scoring leaders for the Owls included Quinton Rose (21 pts) and Jake Forrester (11 pts.)

Next opponent for Temple is UConn on Weds. January 29th, and for Penn is Harvard on Friday January 31st.
