November 12, 2022 – Philadelphia, PA — It was an emotional return of beloved Flyers’ ex-captain Claude Giroux. Unfortunately Giroux helped his new team, the Ottawa Senators, defeat Philadelphia 4-1 with two key assists.

The Flyer’s dominated the game in most aspects, except scoring. While they played a very physical game, including two fights, Philly could only score once on 38 shots on goal.

Ottawa’s Alex DeBrincat scored a pair of power play goals, while Thomas Chabot and Tim Stutzle netted a goal apiece. Cam Talbot was solid in goal, making 37 saves.

Kevin Hayes scored the Flyers’ only goal in the first period. Carter Hart made only 23 saves

The Sixers played a home game just a few hours after this game, and the scene will be repeated tomorrow with Flyers playing the Dallas Stars, followed by the Sixers vs Atlanta.
