Myles Smith Sells Out The Met Behind Debut Album ‘My Mess, My Heart, My Life’

August 26, 2026 – Myles Smith brought his “My Mess, My Heart, My Life Tour to The Met in Philadelphia for a sold-out show. The tour comes in support of his debut album, released June 19. Selling out The Met is no small feat, let alone doing it while touring behind a debut album.

When Smith walked onto the stage, the crowd greeted him with a roar. He opened the night with “Stay (If You Wanna Dance),” and the audience immediately joined in. Songs including “Gold” and “Wait for You” showed just how strong Smith’s voice is live. His voice had even more power than it does on his recordings. He moved around the stage with his guitar, smiling, waving and making eye contact with fans.

At times, the audience seemed to be singing louder than Smith, especially during the choruses. Usually, a few big hits get that kind of reaction. At The Met, it happened song after song. “Grandma’s Place” was written about his grandparents’ home, where he spent time when things were difficult at home. He has said the song also helped him deal with never having the chance to say goodbye to his grandmother. “My Mess” dealt with his childhood and family life. Smith used years of therapy notes while writing the album.

Many of Smith’s songs cover serious subjects, but the show remained upbeat and energetic.“My Home” brought another huge sing-along, followed by a medley that included “Rolling in the Deep” and “Shape of You.” The crowd joined in again for “Nice to Meet You.” Smith returned for the encore with “Drive Safe” before closing the night with “Stargazing.” From the opening notes, the crowd joined in, singing along through the song. It was a fitting way to end a night in which the audience had been part of the performance from beginning to end.

Smith has come a long way from posting covers online. He is now selling out venues like The Met while touring behind his debut album. He may very well be one of music’s next superstars. If Myles Smith isn’t already on your playlist, he should be.
