November 2, 2019 – WEST CHESTER, PA — On a beautiful Fall day in the suburbs of Philadelphia, the Kutztown Golden Bears defeated the West Chester Golden Rams 30-17 to win the PSAC East Championship, their first since 2011.
Kutztown had the only score in the first quarter with a 37-yard touchdown run by A. Neblett.
West Chester got on the board with a 38-yard field goal, but that would be the only score for the Rams in the first half, as Kutztown’s defense swarmed the field. The Golden Bears then opened up the offense with a 63-yard TD pass from Diego Torres to Collin DiGalbo. Dean Krcic added a field goal, followed by a 1-yard Neblett touchdown run, ending the half 23-3.
In the third quarter, West Chester controlled the tempo and drove 86-yards for a QB score by Paul Dooley.
Kutztown started the 4th quarter with a 93-yard drive to score on a Jerry Kapp catch from DiGalbo. West Chester answered back with a Dooley 11-yard TD run, but that ended the scoring. With the 30-17 win, Kutztown earned the PSCA East Championship.
