Electric Daisy Carnival NYC 2012

Fatboy Slim

Electric Daisy Carnival, an electronic dance music festival, has been an annual West Coast tradition for many years. This year, it expanded to the East Coast for the first time.

The three day event took place in Metlife Stadium (home of the NY Giants and Jets) and the surrounding parking lots in the Meadowlands Sports Complex in northern New Jersey.

Day 1 kicked off on Friday, May 18th from 4pm-11pm. The first day featured three stages of music (all in the parking lots outside of Metlife Stadium), carnival rides, performance artists (on and off stage), the Spire of Fire, food, drinks, fans dressed in costumes and crazy outfits, huge video screens, and abundant sunshine.

Our Friday highlights included: Madeon, Fedde Le Grand, Fatboy Slim (who played the best set of the day and possibly the entire festival), Crizzly, Craze, and Pendulum (DJ Set) which was completely off the hook.

Day 2 was a carbon copy of Day 1 with the edition of a fourth stage inside Metlife Stadium. The crowd size also seemed to increase dramatically on Day 2 with longer lines (to enter the festival, at the bathrooms, and just about everywhere else) and bigger crowds at the stages.

Our Saturday highlights included: Cazzette, Alesso, Thomas Gold, Gareth Emery, Carl Cox, and Danny Tenaglia.

Day 3 once again produced amazing weather and somewhat smaller crowds.

Our Sunday highlights included: Bobby Burns, Jaguar Skills, Dieselboy, Victor Calderone, Afrojack, Downlink, Borgore, Bassnectar, Richie Hawtin, and Nero (DJ set) that closed out our night and the festival inside of Metlife Stadium.
