Big Gigantic, the jazzy, hip-hop infused, electronic duo from Colorado, brought the heat on Friday, October 24th at The Tower Theater in Upper Darby. Big G brought a stellar show to Philadelphia with supporting acts Manic Focus and Paper Diamond rounding out the bill.
Dominic Lalli (saxophone/producer) and Jeremy Salken (drums) are some of the busiest guys in the biz. This year has seen them release their fifth album (‘The Night is Young’), tour Australia, sell out double-header shows, play major festivals (from Firefly to Coachella to the Mad Decent block parties), and do their second interview with Independent Philly. Big G is on a tear right now.
Big Gigantic brought their new light get up to the Tower Theater and boy were we impressed. Between the LED screen visuals and the precision perfect lighting we found ourselves lost in the light. Their remix of Aloe Blacc’s “I Need A Dollar” and Notorious B.I.G’s “Notorious Thugs” were definitely highlights of their performance.
Their Livetronica sound set the tone for a great night of music and a party atmosphere at the Tower Theater. We were impressed with Big G’s performance yet again and hope that we don’t have to wait so long again for their return to Philadelphia. Chances are, we’ll catch them again soon, whether near or afar.
