November 19, 2022 – Villanova, PA — It was an annual rivalry game that had it all – big plays, turnovers, hard hits, back and forth leads, senior day – punctuated by a Navy F-18 flyover!
In the end, Villanova grabbed the last lead with a Connor Watkins QB run to beat the Blue Hens 29-26. It was also Watkin’s second running TD for the day.
In the second quarter, the Wildcats gained the slight lead on a Deewil Barlee TD run, but Delaware’s Brandon Ratcliffe gave Delaware the 16-14 lead with a field goal just before halftime.
Barlee scored again in the 3rd quarter to pull Nova closer, trailing 23-21 going into the final period. The Wildcat’s defense also tightened in the second half to help Nova with the comeback win.
