September 25, 2026 – Philadelphia, PA — The Army Black Knights edged past the Temple Owls 21-17 securing their fifth straight win in the series.

Army quarterback Cale Hellums (#3) powered the victory with a standout performance, rushing for 104 yards and three touchdowns on 22 carries. The Black Knights relied on their signature ground game to rack up 281 rushing yards and dominate time of possession.

Temple countered with big-play electricity as quarterback Ajani Sheppard (#13) threw for 242 yards and two long touchdowns—a 78-yard strike to running back Sam Brown (#5) and a 67-yarder to wide receiver Colin Chase (#1)—keeping the Owls competitive all afternoon.

The game came down to a tense fourth-quarter swing after Temple took a 17-14 lead on a 29-yard field goal by kicker Carl Hardin (#98) with 7:38 remaining. Army responded with a methodical 12-play, 75-yard drive that chewed up the clock before Hellums punched in the game-winning 3-yard touchdown run with just 1:41 left on the clock.

The loss dropped the Owls to 1-3 overall and 0-1 in American Athletic Conference play.
