The three day block party will showcase 15+ performances & panels across 4 venues, food trucks, beer gardens, street art & murals, and a bevy of other activities and attractions.
Run The Jewels, Philly natives Tierra Whack & DJ Diamond Kuts, Dethklok, and more than a dozen other acts are gearing up for what looks to be a wild weekend in Fishtown. I mean, just look at this setup on the Fillmore campus –
Here’s how it all breaks down: The Fillmore will host the headliners Friday thru Sunday, while supporting acts will take over Brooklyn Bowl. If that wasn’t enough, Punch Line Comedy Club boasts its own impressive lineup of comedians and live panels with some of Adult Swim’s biggest creators.
In addition to all the live entertainment the Adult Swim Festival will feature a full assortment of food and beverage options, ranging from local food trucks like Dre’s Water Ice & Ice Cream and Calle Del Sabor to Wendy’s, Klondike, and Liquid Death. But that’s not all, as the event will feature aptly named menu items that will no doubt appeal to the Adult Swim faithful, as well as some exlusive merch releases.
Joining the culinary and musical artistry will be Branche Coverdale, Zeinab Diomande and Nazeer Sabree, a collection of local black muralists who have been teasing their work onsite leading up to the final reveal the week of the festival.
Friday 8/5
The festivities kick off at 4:30pm on Friday when the block party officially opens. At 6:00pm, The Fillmore hosts what some may consider to be the biggest act of the weekend, Run The Jewels. The sly bravado that Killer Mike and El-P bring to their music is amplified by their onstage personas. Their dynamic catalog will no doubt set the tone for the rest of the weekend.
Punch Line’s schedule starts at 6:00pm with sets from Rosebud Baker and Megan Koester, followed by Carmen Christopher and Shane Torres w/ Maddy Smith at 9:00pm.
Saturday 8/6
The party starts at 12:00pm on Saturday, a full two hours before Punch Line hosts panels with some the biggest Adult Swim entities – Smiling Friends (2pm), Aqua Teen Hunger Force (3pm), and Ricky & Morty (4pm). Wubba Lubba Dub Dub indeed.
The unexpected but welcome introduction to Hannibal Burress‘ newest project Eshu Tune starts at Brooklyn Bowl at 2:00pm, joined by Chill Moody & Snacktime Philly. From all accounts, this set is a can’t miss.
After the panels finish up, Philly’s own Tierra Whack will be joined at The Fillmore by fellow local stars DJ Diamond Kuts and JEWELSSEA at 6:00pm. This is a prime opportunity to see some of the best Philly talent in music today. Concurrently, Jo Firestone, Ana Fabrega, Conner O’Malley, and River L. Ramirez will be over at Punch Line at 6:00pm.
Procedings shift over to Brooklyn Bowl at 8:00pm for rising phenom Bia, with support from Fly Anakin. The day wraps up perfectly with a midnight set from the revered RJD2.
Sunday 8/7
Sunday offers the most down time between sets, giving attendees a chance to take in the full compliment of activities and attractions throughout The Fillmore campus.
Hop Along w/ Spirit of the Beehive & DeathByRomy open the festivities at Brooklyn Bowl at 1:00pm before Adult Swim’s brainchild Dethklok takes over The Fillmore at 6:00pm. Also at 6:00pm, Craig Conant w/ Jon DelCollo and Frank D Neblett take the stage at Punch Line.
Continuing the trend of chart topping female rappers, Flo Milli closes out the festival musical acts at 7:30pm at Brooklyn Bowl before Brandon Wardell, Reggie Conquest, and Chanel Ali close down Punch Line.
