Philadelphia, the 2010 Eastern Conference Champions, were looking to move to 4-0 to cap an undefeated regular season. All that stood in their way was the expansion Toronto Triumph.
What do you do when something stands in your way? Run around it? Run over it? Run through it? All of the above.
The #1 ranked Passion dominated the game from the opening whistle to the final buzzer. The beat-down, the likes of which has never been seen before in the LFL, was one of the most overpowering efforts we have witnessed in any sport. The only Triumph for Toronto in this game will be forgetting it ever happened.
Behind game MVP Jenny Butler, RB/S Marirose Roach, and QB Christy Bell, the Passion scored early and often, and led by several touchdowns at half time.
Nothing changed for Philadelphia in the second half as they continued to balloon their lead, eventually finishing with an LFL record 74 points (they missed the 2 point conversion at the final buzzer that would have made it 76).
Just as impressive as scoring 74 points, Philly held Toronto scoreless to complete the 74-0 rout.
The game also featured several second half fights between the two teams that had to be broken up by the officials. The Passion celebrated their record setting night and undefeated season on the LFL logo at mid-field after the game.
The team will now look to advance to their second straight Lingerie Bowl this winter. It’s hard to believe that anything will stand in their way of Philadelphia winning the title that eluded them last season.
