Kap Slap Minces and Mashes Whisper Nightclub

Published On May 18, 2013 | Around Town

Kap Slap made his triumphant return to Whisper Nightclub on Friday, May 17th, and Independent Philly was there to take it all in.  The show, presented by Campus Night Out, also featured support from Sylo & Jansen, and DOTCOM.

Being that he graduated from Lehigh University in January with a degree in Business and Engineering, we can’t help but be jealous at the fact that Kap Slap is not only intelligent, but gets to DJ in packed night clubs across the U.S. on a regular basis.

When we arrived at Whisper, one of Philly’s premier night clubs, the VIP area had a constant flow of bottles being carried in and out, and people could be seen throughout the club dancing the night away.

In a state where the liquor laws are quite prohibitive, it is always a treat to go to a venue that not only remains open past 2am, but serves alcohol past 2am, which is part of the appeal of Whisper Nightclub.

Kap Slap hit the decks around 1245am and immediately started playing some of his signature mash ups that have made him a favorite with crowds across the country.

As he played late into the night, the crowd showed no signs of slowing down, and how could they when the infamous Pauly D was in the house? We apologize for not having a current photo, but the security at the club just wouldn’t allow it, so we’ll resort to this old file photo (below).

When the end of the night came, it seemed as if no one was ready to head home.  However, even though Whisper remains open later than the majority of Philadelphia establishments, everyone has to head home at some point.  We were glad to catch Kap Slap’s return to Philly, and are sure we will be seeing him again sometime soon.
