Flyers Beat Ottawa and Remain Playoff Hopeful

Published On March 11, 2019 | Sports

March 11, 2019 PHILADELPHIA — The Flyers take another win and step toward the playoff season behind veteran goalie Brian Elliott.  After an empty 1st period for the Flyers, Oskar Lindblom, Michael Raffle and Scott Laughton all scored in the 2nd toward a 3-2 win over the basement-dwelling Ottawa Senators.

The Senators took the lead in a lackluster 1st period with a Chris Tierney goal.  The Flyers (and the crowd) woke up in the 2nd, and only one 3rd period goal by Ottawa’s Filip Chlapik sealed the win for the Flyers.  But noticeably absent was Jakub Voracek who was still serving a 2-game suspension for an interference call against the Islanders.

The Flyers will host the Washington Capitals next at the Wells Fargo Center.
